During the adjustments for Covid-19 we are offering Dinner service only.

The lounge with its chic and swanky atmosphere is the perfect Happy Hour prescription for fun. The lounge comprises furnishings that offer maximum comfort to entice guests to linger with comfortable bar stools and white patent leather Louis XIV ghost chairs, as well as low and high cocktail tables to suit your mood.

Our Story

Prior to its extravagant grand opening in September 2015, EIGHT4NINE Restaurant and Lounge was a large historic building that formerly served as Palm Springs’ first U.S. Post Office.

Today the cavernous 1954 building has been elegantly transported into a minimalist modern space with striking crisp white interior punctuated with strategically-placed hot pink accents.

Your Hosts

EIGHT4NINE Restaurant & Lounge is owned and operated by Willie Rhine and John Paschal.

Willie Rhine is a 23-year resident of Palm Springs who started his career in the restaurant business at the acclaimed Le Vallauris Restaurant in Palm Springs, and later managed two of the busiest and most successful restaurants in the Palm Springs Valley.

John Paschal, has been in the desert for fifteen years. John  is proud and grateful that his only job/ career has been in photography and he is still going strong after almost 40 years  in the business which includes photo shoots with Brad Pitt, Eva Longoria, KTLA News Team Billboards, Cast Photos of T.V. Shows such as “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless.” Paschal opened Snapshot Palm Springs Studios, which has transformed into a top event space in the desert, hosting parties for major corporations and private clients.

Tom Collins as Assistant General Manager directs a stellar team. Guest service is a priority at EIGHT4NINE, our team are always at your service.

We offer several beautiful, private dining spaces perfect for exclusive gatherings of friends and family when celebrating life’s special moments, marking professional milestones, corporate and pharmaceutical events, or when simply avoiding fans and paparazzi.

Having a larger event?  Our restaurant is often utilized for complete buyouts for indoor outdoor progressive parties up to 300 or more people.

PRIVATE ROOMS

All three private dining rooms are comfortable and elegant, offering their own unique art and ambiance.

The GYPSY ROOM (top row above) offers a single, grand table which seats up to 14 people comfortably (or up to 20 if you’re with very close friends).

The MOROCCAN ROOM (bottom row left and bottom row right above) seats up to 24 people at a combination of tables and has a door which may be closed for maximum privacy.

The CHILDERS ROOM (center row of photos above) is perfect for a combination cocktail party and dining experience, or a sit-down, formal meal for up to 50 people. The Childers Room has immediate access to our elegant PATIO, and many of our guests choose to begin their experience with a reception (or wedding!) on the patio before moving to the CHILDERS ROOM for their dining experience.

EIGHT4NINE can host your dream wedding ceremony with the blue skies above and the majestic mountains in the background followed by an unforgettable dining experience on the patio or in one of our elegant dining rooms.

We are happy to arrange for audio/visual equipment to make your occasions even more memorable, and address any other needs you may have.
